Strategic planning

fivebyfive modern chamber music - 2018

Fivebyfive board members worked closely with me to identify their organization’s biggest needs and challenges. To clarify their goals, establish action items, and strengthen their capacity and visibility, I designed a full-day strategic planning retreat for fivebyfive board and Advisory Board members and musicians. Together, we created a vision statement, thorough analysis of the organization’s current state, and action items with measurable outcomes.

Within 4 months of our planning session, fivebyfive had received significant media coverage and secured a major grant and recording opportunity.

Cordancia Chamber Orchestra - 2019-20

Founding directors of Cordancia Chamber Orchestra approached me in anticipation of the ensemble’s 10th anniversary season, seeking support around audience development. We identified challenges and opportunities to their vision and established an ongoing consulting relationship. To date, we have completed comprehensive planning to offer ticket and subscription opportunities, grow their mailing list, establish more partnerships across the arts community, seek highly visible media coverage, and fine-tune their PR/Communications practices.

Rochester Early Music Festival - 2015-2020

The Rochester Early Music Festival has grown in scope since I began working with the founding director and volunteer board in 2015. In its original iteration, the Festival encompassed a single evening-long event featuring area Early Music specialists.

Now spanning two weeks in November, the festival has received print and TV media features. Venue partners have helped to situate the Festival firmly within a vibrant neighborhood where the arts are well supported. The REMF has recently partnered with the American Literary Translators Association and numerous area nonprofit organizations. Through offerings that now address listeners spanning from young children to bar-going young adults to elder adults, the REMF has grown to serve audiences of unprecedented size and diversity and to further support artists by offering a special opportunity to create programs that fulfill their artistic interests.
